About Long Island 9-1-1 Veterans
Long Island 9-1-1 Veterans is dedicated to assisting Long Island veterans who are experiencing short-term emergencies, often as they struggle to cope with the difficult challenges of re-entering civilian life after serving in combat areas. Although this organization serves veterans of all eras, the most pressing need now is to support new veterans who recently served in Iraq or Afghanistan. Especially during these tough economic times, returning veterans can find it difficult to find a job, or make ends meet for themselves and their families. 9-1-1 Veterans provides the financial assistance to help with food and clothing; rent and mortgage payments; utility payments; prescription drug and medical co-payments; car repairs and a variety of other short-term financial needs that can occur as veterans re-establish civilian lives.
