Runners or walkers interested in being a part of this unique event
On top of having a shot at setting a personal-best on the clock, the Long Island 9-1-1 Veterans 5K Run at MacArthur Airport also gives runners, walkers and sponsors alike an opportunity to contribute to a great cause. Over the last three years, the 5K Run for Veterans has combined to host more than 4,500 runners on a race course that covers a taxiway and runway on an active airfield, but has more importantly raised over $200,000 to support local veterans.
Circle June 1 on your calendar, because we are gearing up to make our Fourth Annual 5K Run for Veterans an even bigger success than last year's which featured more than 2,000 runners and walkers braving the rain and fog to show their support.
The Long Island 9-1-1 Veterans 5K Run is also part of a bigger summer event--The Sayville Summer Run Series--which links together five different runs where competitors can earn cash prizes and awards.
