Long Island MacArthur Airport Launches New Website: flylima.com

Site Lets Customers Track Flights, Get Directions, Find Parking and Link to AirlinesFrom Canada to China, Croatia to the UK, Travelers from 30 Countries Visit flyLIMA.com


July 21, 2020 - Long Island MacArthur Airport (LIMA) has launched www.flylima.com, the first airport-sponsored Website, Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan announced today.  On this user-friendly site, travelers can track flights, get directions, locate parking, and find the latest airport news and weather updates.  The site is the latest in a series of customer amenities that include a courtesy parking area for cell phone users, and free WiFi throughout the terminal, which is scheduled to launch by year-end.

Supervisor Nolan stated, “Our goal is to give travelers a way to easily obtain the information they need to plan their travel or pick up passengers from Long Island MacArthur Airport.  Furthermore, through online surveys and email links, flylima.com provides a convenient way for our customers to communicate with the airport helping us serve them better.”

Commissioner of Aviation Teresa Rizzuto said, “At Long Island MacArthur Airport, customer service is our number one priority, and that starts with effective communication.  With the launch of flylima.com, we have one more great way to serve our customers.”  

Designed and managed in-house by airport administrative staff, the site features:

•    Clean design and simple navigation
•    Flight Tracker and FAA information on arrivals and departures
•    Links to ancillary services such as the LIRR, near-by hotels, and car rental companies
•    Videos to compliment announcements of new developments at MacArthur  
•    Scrolling ticker for emergency alerts, breaking news, and upcoming events
•    Information on the general aviation services at Long Island MacArthur Airport
•    Information about the Bayport Aerodrome, the town-owned historic grass airfield
•    Information for location scouts for film, television and still photography opportunities at LIMA

According to Islip Town Councilman Christopher Bodkin, who is the Town Board liaison to the airport administration, “users from across the country and across the globe are beginning to visit flylima.com, and in fact, visitors from over thirty countries have already checked out the site, which has only been live for a short time.”   Canada, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, and Bermuda are among the countries represented by recent visitors.  

Visitors to the site can also take a short customer satisfaction survey designed to uncover ways the airport can enhance the customer experience.
